Devlog #8 - Demo End & Plan for 2025

Happy new year, everybody! Today I’d like to talk about the demo that just ended and what’s next for Fogworld’s development.

Demo

Fogworld’s Alpha Demo period has come to an end. Thank you all for giving your feedback, reporting bugs and just playing the game. On the whole, people really seem to like the game. Apart from a few bugs, there didn't seem to be any major problems. But if you have ideas or suggestions on how to improve the game, I’m always happy to hear them.

If you have played the demo and haven’t filled out the survey yet, you can do that here: https://forms.gle/L7Y3J8KDnwMZdtgv6 It only takes 5 minutes and helps me greatly.

If you haven’t played the demo, don’t worry. There will be another opportunity to test the game later this year.

Plans for 2025

The big goal for this year is putting the game on Steam, so people can (finally) wishlist it. This does not mean that the game will be released in 2025, I’m not that fast.

So why isn’t Fogworld on Steam already? Because, on Steam more than on itch, first impressions matter. And the game just isn’t that polished yet. There’s a bunch of things that I’ll have to do: Overhauling all of the UI, Adding the missing portraits for the game’s characters, adding proper icons and giving each skill a unique animation. (You can see my progress on bluesky)

Once all of that is done, I can put Fogworld on Steam. But this will take some time. My current estimate is that the Steam page will go live towards the end of Q3.

If you want to stay updated on Fogworld’s progress, you can join the discord server or follow on bluesky.

Until next time, goodbye!
